The new talking point from Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the rest of the MAGA mob is that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has lost the support of his own people.

They claim that in order for Ukraine to move toward a peaceful solution that ends the war Russia started, Zelensky must step aside.

At one point, Trump even called the Ukrainian president a dictator. Musk demanded that Ukraine hold a new election, insisting that Zelensky would lose in a landslide.

Like usual, the MAGA narrative has a formidable foe: reality.

According to a new poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, Zelensky’s approval rating in his country stands at an impressive 68 percent. The survey was taken after the Trump-Vance Oval Office meltdown last month.

Even before the White House clash with the U.S. president and his repugnant sidekick, Zelensky’s approval rating was a solid 57 percent.

In other words, Trump’s rationale for backing away from Zelensky — that he’s an unpopular tyrant who has lost the confidence of his people during wartime — is complete nonsense.

To make this even more humiliating for Trump, his own approval rating is drastically lower than Zelensky’s.

Does this mean Donald Trump should step down?
